## Key takeaways

- Many Vietnamese customers pay by bank transfer with a VietQR code over NAPAS 247, so offer it and reconcile it automatically with a service such as SePay.
- VNPay and MoMo offer website payment gateways, but fees are not published and few hosting billing systems have official modules for them.
- E-invoices follow Decree 123/2020 as amended by Decree 70/2025 from 1 June 2025, and household businesses moved off lump-sum tax on 1 January 2026; ask an accountant about your case.
- Support in Vietnamese, in Vietnamese hours, on channels customers already use such as Zalo, matters as much as price.

Selling hosting in Vietnam differs from selling internationally in three ways: customers prefer to pay by scanning a bank-transfer QR code or with an e-wallet rather than an international card, businesses need e-invoices that follow Vietnamese rules, and customers expect support in Vietnamese on familiar channels such as Zalo. Get those three right and price becomes only one of several reasons to choose you. On tax and legal questions, this article only cites official sources; for your own situation, ask an accountant or lawyer.

This article is for people who have decided to run a hosting business and are preparing to sell to customers in Vietnam. If you have not started yet, read [how to start a web hosting business](/blog/start-web-hosting-business); if you are working out costs, see [what it costs to run a small hosting company each month](/blog/hosting-business-monthly-cost).

## Payments: how Vietnamese customers pay

Many individuals and small businesses in Vietnam pay through their banking app instead of entering an international card. The table summarises common ways to collect payment, based on each provider's official pages at the time of writing (October 2026).

| Method | How it works | Confirmed automatically? | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Bank transfer with VietQR | The customer scans a code; NAPAS 247 fast transfer between banks in the NAPAS network, 24/7, under 500 million VND per transaction | No, unless you use a reconciliation service | [NAPAS](https://napas.com.vn/dich-vu-chuyen-tien-nhanh-napas-247) |
| Bank transfer through SePay | SePay detects incoming money in your bank account and sends a webhook to your site | Yes | [SePay](https://sepay.vn/), [webhook docs](https://docs.sepay.vn/tich-hop-webhooks.html) |
| VNPAY gateway | Domestic ATM cards, international cards and VNPAY-QR (scanned with the apps of more than 40 banks, the VNPAY app or 15 e-wallets) | Yes | [VNPAY](https://vnpay.vn/), [integration docs](https://sandbox.vnpayment.vn/apis/) |
| MoMo gateway | Each payment on your site creates a QR code that the customer scans with the MoMo wallet | Yes | [MoMo for Business](https://business.momo.vn/) |
| International cards through Stripe | Not an option if your business is registered in Vietnam: Vietnam is not on Stripe's list of supported countries | | [Stripe](https://stripe.com/global) |

### QR bank transfer and automatic reconciliation

Bank transfer is the cheapest and most familiar method, but if you reconcile by hand, every order means opening the banking app, finding the transfer note and marking the invoice paid. That works for a few dozen customers; it does not work for a few hundred monthly renewals.

Services such as SePay solve exactly this: your system receives a webhook when money arrives, matches the transfer note to the invoice number and marks it paid. According to [SePay's pricing](https://sepay.vn/bang-gia.html), the FREE plan covers 50 transactions a month, and paid plans are priced by transaction volume. SePay's documentation warns that the same transaction can be delivered more than once because of retries, so your side must de-duplicate by transaction ID.

### VNPay and MoMo gateways

A gateway fits when you want customers to pay by card or wallet on the order page. Neither provider publishes fees on its home page; you contact them to sign a contract and get a quote. MoMo's developer documentation describes the process as registering a business account, integrating against a test environment, and then MoMo verifying the integration before it goes live.

### Does your billing system support them?

This is where people get stuck. As we noted in [WHMCS vs Blesta, Paymenter and HostBill](/blog/whmcs-vs-blesta-paymenter-hostbill), we found no official VNPay or MoMo modules in the gateway lists of those four billing systems. What we could verify:

- **HostBill + SePay:** SePay publishes an [official HostBill module](https://docs.sepay.vn/tich-hop-hostbill.html) for VietQR payments that updates the order status itself.
- **WHMCS:** includes a [Bank Transfer](https://docs.whmcs.com/Bank_Transfer) module that shows transfer instructions, but you mark invoices paid yourself unless you write or buy a module that listens for webhooks.
- **If you use a third-party module** for VNPay or MoMo, ask for a demo and check that it handles IPN (payment notifications) correctly and de-duplicates transactions before you rely on it.

## Invoices, tax and business registration

This section only states what official documents and government pages say. It does not replace an accountant: your case (household business or company, selling to individuals or companies, which VAT rate applies) needs someone qualified to look at it.

### E-invoices: points worth knowing

According to the government's summary of Decree 70/2025:

- For services supplied in large volumes, regularly, and needing data reconciliation (the summary gives e-commerce services as an example), the invoice is issued when reconciliation is complete, no later than the 7th of the following month. Hosting is not named, so ask your accountant whether this applies to you.
- If you issued an invoice when collecting payment in advance and the service is later cancelled, you must adjust the invoice. In hosting, that is the refund case when a customer cancels.
- Household and individual businesses with annual revenue of 1 billion VND or more must use e-invoices generated from cash registers.

Operationally, choose an e-invoice provider with an API and connect it to your billing system, so each payment produces an invoice instead of a batch you issue by hand at the end of the month.

### Do you need to register hosting as a service?

The Ministry of Science and Technology's page says the Telecommunications Authority asked businesses providing data center services to register or notify them under Telecommunications Law No. 24/2023/QH15 and Decree 163/2024/ND-CP, with filing deadlines in early 2025. The page does not define whether reselling shared hosting on rented VPS counts as a data center service. Do not guess: ask a lawyer or contact the Telecommunications Authority before you sell under a company name.

## Support: Vietnamese language, Vietnamese hours, familiar channels

Vietnamese customers often want to ask on Zalo or by phone during office hours, not file an English ticket to another time zone. What helps:

- **An official messaging channel**, for example a [Zalo Official Account](https://oa.zalo.me/), so customers message your brand rather than a staff member's personal phone.
- **Tickets or email for anything that needs a record**, such as restores, domain changes and refunds.
- **Published support hours**, plus an emergency channel for outages.
- **Documentation in Vietnamese** for repeat questions: pointing a domain, setting up mail on a phone, installing WordPress.

| Channel | Good for | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Zalo OA | Quick questions, renewal reminders | Move anything that needs a record into a ticket |
| Phone | Urgent outages | Log the call in a ticket afterwards |
| Ticket, email | Restores, refunds, service changes | History, easy hand-over between staff |
| Vietnamese docs | Repeat questions | Fewer tickets over time |

## A panel for Vietnamese customers: what ZoPanel does

Customers look at the control panel every day, so a panel in Vietnamese removes a lot of questions. In ZoPanel:

- **Vietnamese and English interfaces**; customers switch language on the sign-in page, and error messages follow the chosen language.
- **WordPress installs in Vietnamese** when the customer uses the panel in Vietnamese.
- **Your own welcome email** with the username, panel address, nameservers and your support link; resellers write their own too ([resellers](/docs/reseller)).
- **Billing modules** for WHMCS, Blesta, HostBill and Paymenter, so HostBill + SePay + ZoPanel can run unattended from the customer's transfer to the account being created ([WHMCS and billing integrations](/docs/whmcs)).
- **cPanel and DirectAdmin backup import** for customers coming from another host ([migration feature](/features/migration)).

What is missing: ZoPanel's alerts go by email, Telegram or webhook, not directly to Zalo. ZoPanel itself sells licences in USD (card, Apple Pay and Google Pay through OnePay, or PayPal) and supports customers through tickets in Vietnamese or English, with no phone line or Zalo group. If you need a panel sold in VND with Zalo support, our [Vietnamese hosting control panels](/blog/vietnamese-hosting-control-panels) article compares local options.

## Pricing for the Vietnamese market

A few local points:

- **List prices in VND**, and say whether VAT is included; ask your accountant which rate applies to your service.
- **Push annual plans.** Every payment is a reconciliation and an invoice, so yearly billing saves you work.
- **Remind early** by email and Zalo, with a QR code pre-filled with the amount and transfer note, so customers can pay in seconds.
- **Count every cost** before you compare prices with competitors: servers, licences, backups, payment fees, e-invoices and support time ([how to price hosting plans](/blog/hosting-plan-pricing)).

## Conclusion

Selling hosting in Vietnam means making payment, invoices and help as easy as customers expect: QR bank transfer with automatic reconciliation, e-invoices issued as soon as payment arrives, and support in Vietnamese on familiar channels. For tax and registration, ask an accountant and a lawyer at the start instead of fixing things later.

To try the panel side, [ZoPanel's Free plan](/pricing) runs 3 hosting accounts, 10 websites and 10 databases with a Vietnamese interface, with no time limit.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a company to sell hosting in Vietnam?

It depends on your size and how you sell: household businesses and companies have different tax and invoice obligations, and from 1 January 2026 household businesses no longer pay lump-sum tax. Data center services also have registration requirements under the 2023 Telecommunications Law. Ask an accountant or lawyer about your case before you start selling.

### What is the most common way to pay for hosting in Vietnam?

Bank transfer, often by scanning a VietQR code over NAPAS 247. To avoid reconciling by hand, use a balance-notification service such as SePay, which has an official HostBill module. VNPay and MoMo fit when you want card or wallet payment on the order page.

### Does WHMCS support VNPay or MoMo?

We found no official VNPay or MoMo module in WHMCS's gateway list. WHMCS has a Bank Transfer module that shows transfer instructions; automatic confirmation needs a third-party or custom module.

### Do I have to issue e-invoices when selling hosting in Vietnam?

Invoices and documents are governed by Decree 123/2020/ND-CP, amended by Decree 70/2025/ND-CP from 1 June 2025. When and how you must issue them depends on your business form and revenue, so confirm with an accountant.

### Can I use Stripe in Vietnam?

A business registered in Vietnam cannot sign up for Stripe, because Vietnam is not on Stripe's list of supported countries at the time of writing. For cards, look at a domestic gateway such as VNPay.
